If you put a bit of red cellophane over the torch most of them won't react and will go about their businessmuch more fun to watch, even if they are all red and shit.

Koalas really aren't too bothered.Even the Brushies don't seem to mind the light as long as you don't shine it too long. Once, however, we lit up a Tawny Frogmouth for a few minutes for a photo and went to sleep.
