Thank you!I guess that would be 'indexed' colour mode to set a transparent colour in Photoshop first, rather than just opening the psd with areas of transparency on each frame's layer?

forget everything I just said and just check if the "transparency" checkbox is checked in the Optimize Window(you may have to activate the advanced options via the arrow in the top left right corner of said window)

It is, but the transparency only seems to work for those pixels which are transparent for every frame.Those pixels which have colour for one or more frames are rendered as grey for the other frames. I reckon that the transparent colour through fixed palette might be worth a shot, I'll give it a go this week at some point. Cheers for the help!

hmmmmI never had that kind of problems with IR7, I'd just change some optimize settings now one after another and check the output file for changes
