You're lucky to experience it for the first time as an adult,but unfortunate not to have been weaned on it.
That stuff is pretty much the closest thing I have to a religion.
edit: do try and watch the original stuff with the hard won hand crafted special effects and not the push button crap they've replaced it with. I learned to push those buttons, I know how easy CG planets are to make, and it makes me mad that they puked all over the original artists and it's the only version you can get on Netflix: Seriously GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
