Great soundtrack, gobsmacking visuals, fantastic acting.
The beginning half hour and the last half hour showed a genius at work.
Unfortunately, it's the 104 minutes of cinematic indifference inbetween that still haunts me.

yes it's about 25 minutes too long and has way too many sub plots
but it has several moments of excellence which made me forgive its short comings, plus the last shot may be one of my all time favourites of all time, ever of all time

It's definitely a 'need to watch it twice' film before I write it off completely.
But nothing can change the truly weedy fight scenes, or some of the other things that really bugged me (which I won't mention due to their spoilerific nature).

I thought the bane/bat fight was fucking spectacular, not because of the choreography, but more because you were seeing batman vulnerable
and I was unsure what was going to happen, plus the sound design was exceptional, the second fight was uninspiring
i'm probably seeing it again tomorrow, hoohoo
it's certainly the darkest of the three films
Alfred's blubbing nearly made me blub, the blubbing blubber.
