Shock value is a very tricky thing to get right. I was doing research for an anti-fur campaign I was working on, and a lot of them were models holding up skinned animals, covered in blood, etc.
If I were in such a position in which I didn't care about fur farming, I don't think that would affect me. I'd be repulsed but I just wouldn't care.

Perhaps recording a few of their agonised words of remorse before I abandoned them to the shifting desert sands.

If people who deal in the fur trade actually had any empathy for animals they wouldn't be in the fur trade to start with. The fact is they only see these animals as a commodity so it's a way of life and living for them - they have separated that part of their humanity away from the physical act of killing innocent animals.

I'd say that project was the most difficult one I've done so far, if only because of the research. It's a horrible, cruel and barbaric practice, and the so-called fashion designers that don't consider the fact that they're working with a murdered animal's skin, need to be educated on the matter.
