A couple of years ago I was in the Nine Fine Irishmen bar in the New York New York hotel in Las Vegas, where I was informed by the Hawaiian barman that I was at liberty to purchasea 'Michael Collins' cocktail.
So I did, instructing him that it had inspired me to decide to start my own bar on my return featuring an 'Osama Bin Laden' cocktail to celebrate the great man.
He smiled tightly, thinking clearly of only the tip I would leave.

Hehe.My Grandad, very Irish and very much a republican, was once asked by a cousin for suggestions for names for their new son. The cousin was Canadian, had no real knowledge of Irish history and had the surname Collins. You can guess what my Grandad suggested. It was only three months after the name had been registered that said cousin discovered the significance of it. He wasn't amused :)
