edit* Also he is clearly smoking, not chewing, he could smoke chewing tobacco but as my friend will testify to during a rather desperate scrape of his cupboards... it doesn't smoke well, forms molten drips of flaming chewing gum and tobacco that then sticks to your clothes and burns through like napalm.
