The tower's a throwback to the old Communist days.It dwarfs everything else in the city, and a while ago it was decided that it needed something to make it less oppressive, so they got an artist to attach giant steel babies to it.
It's a strangely beautiful thing. If you ever go to Prague you really can't miss it, even if you try.

I love a nice bit of Communist-era architecture.Mind you, that's probably cos I didn't have to live under the regime, so the architecture doesn't have quite such an association for me.

Some of the locals still hate it for what it symbolised, but most of the younger generation are cool with it.
