you're rightit's pretty awful, Fiennes and Thurman are totally lacking in warmth. Sean Connery is bizarre too, the only decent characters are the secondary/minor ones.

They cut the film to shreds in editing to get the running time down to 90 minutes, so it barely makes sense. None of the trailer footage made the film at all. No idea if a 'directors cut' would be a better film, but it would have to be a more coherent one.
