If it makes you feel any better..I work for a railway company and had to help a little old lady in a wheelchair Off a train at Chester-Le-Street on the way to Newcastle. The train was hugely crowded with Newcastle fans travelling to the match which could have made it extremely difficult/intimidating for a little old lady. however those waiting were incredibly patient, helpful and jovial and made the old lady in the wheelchair laugh alot and my day at work alot easier.
