i replaced a co-workers rear fender-mounted car radio antenna today in the trunk (boot) I unplugged the antenna wire form the elementless antenna mount,
stuck a drill bit into the female end of the wire,
cello-taped a wire to that,
taped the wire inside the glass at the top of the rear window (hatchback) behind the painted area so it' can't be seen from the outside.
I do not believe he will ever purchase a replacement now, HA HA.

heh, i had to do something similar to the heater element on the rear windshield of my carthe wire that powered it came unstuck, so i soldered it back directly onto the glass all the time trying not to crack the windshield with the heat
