# It's even sadder that I didn't know :)
I thought I was just making something up.

# i know :(
I often come up with an awesome pun or otherwise obscure play on words and then find out that the great and powerful Google already knows of a few more instances of the same.

# i don't know if it's my age or some other new underlying phenomenon here,
...but in the past couple of years, the sense of entitlement and self-centeredness of 'the pack' has seems as if it has made a dramatic increase.

I say 'the pack' because people are sweet in peer-to-peer relations, but in situations where the human animal rears its head (like shopping and driving), people stop treating people like people.

I spend much of my day driving, and my poor poor girlfriend (my IRL one, LOL) works in retail.

I think it's time for mother to shake a few fleas off her back.

# less interaction with children
sitting them in front of the telly or video games means needy children wanting attention. these kids are now growing into needy, selfish adults, not giving a fuck about anyone else when they're on their own, but still so desperate for approval that they'll conform to pack mentality when the need arises.
just a theory.

# I totally get that, thanks for the input.
SO video games didn't create serial killers (ok ok ok maybe a few mass murderers) rather I DO understand how it has killed that sense of connectedness to other humans.

I work with a guy who is like that. Sociopathic, but not in a dangerous way -- just disconnected from any sense of being a benefit to anyone -- except for himself of course.

# i see so many parents
unable to cope with their children, wondering why they have no authority over them. then, when the kids get home from school, they throw sweets at them and plonk them in front of the telly. when the kids want to tell their parents about their day, they get told to shut up because said parent is busy doing something else. kids need love and the right amount of attention to properly develop emotional and social connections.
