I have always been a fan of KOSS brand. No nonsense, just good sound.
Secondary reason: An audio kiosk company that I sub-sub-sub-contracted for would let me keep the redundant pair of headphones when I would go onsite to troubleshoot audio problems. If the problem was something else, I got yet another free working set :D

I got 2 pairs free with a Bose PA.
I got 2 L1 series 2's and 2 B2's and they chucked them in for fuck all which was a reasonable price.

To be honest, Bose are overpriced as well
You can rarely go wrong with Sennheiser...
