I've never understood the 'lost brethren' argument.I mean, there were plenty of people lost under the German Imperial Eagle, but I don't see that used as an objection to the current tricolour.

It was more of a case of looking for the best nondescript phrase than supporting the argument.But in more seriousness, if they leave I highly doubt anyone would be either arsed or motivated to remove a fairly popular feature of the UK (and a traditional one at that) for the sake of making an flag organised by the OCD and Pedants Alliance. Questions will be raised, certainly, but a really big push to remove it? I'd say doubtful unless everyone else in Britain turns out to be a group of angry broken hearted people.
