i have a fujifilm finepix A204, comes with 16mb for about £150

the same quality as far more expensive cameras, but they saved money by not shrinking it and it's a little bulky. i love it to bits, though.

any good for snapping text off of books etc?

my mum is looking for one for research in records offices where they wont let you photocopy

um, it has a macro mode

but it's not good with anything less than perfect light, and it'll need a flash.
