We Americans don't understand ze roundabouts.Isn't that just a four-way intersection, with a extra little driveway in the upper left? Couldn't a simple traffic signal solve the whole thing? *sigh*

For intersectionswith reasonably low usage, or where there are multi-lane roads converging, they're far more efficient than traffic signals. Unfortunately, they're not great under heavy load/usage. If traffic becomes stationary on the actual roundabout you're fucked - the whole thing falls apart.
