Okay, so:
1) It was funnier in my head
2) Someone must have done it before
3) Many, many apologies.

# And not one people carrier in sight!
.

# To answer your question earlier
Before people carriers existed, people used to break the law by fitting too many bodies into small cars. Not that I'm defending empty people carriers, but sometimes you do need the space. Believe me, fitting 7 people in an Astra is no joke!

# Just use two cars when needed.
I really can see that there is much need for them.

# That's great
...if you have 2 people who can drive, or can afford two cars when it may only be slightly more expensive to but the people carrier 0- even if it offends the sensibilities of some people with a limited world view. It's really very narrow-minded to assume that there are no large families/small clubs/whatever out there who can't make proper use of people carriers. Although I'm sure we're all agreed that if they're used by families with 1 kid or something then that's a bit stupid.

# Then that fair enough, if they are needed.
But lets face it most of the time they are not. My sister in-law had one, she only has 3 children, most of the time she ended up giving lifts to other people. So she sold it and those other people have found a way to get around, WOW.

# I've been on THAT roundabout
now i just go 1 extra junction up the M4 so i miss it...:-)

# We Americans don't understand ze roundabouts.
Isn't that just a four-way intersection, with a extra little driveway in the upper left? Couldn't a simple traffic signal solve the whole thing? *sigh*
(, Mon 19 Aug 2002, 17:04, archived)
# For intersections
with reasonably low usage, or where there are multi-lane roads converging, they're far more efficient than traffic signals. Unfortunately, they're not great under heavy load/usage. If traffic becomes stationary on the actual roundabout you're fucked - the whole thing falls apart.

# That roundabout is nuts
I used to drive through that system and it was crazy. Its pretty difficult to negotiate on its own, but to make matters worse there's always some eejit who just drives straight through the mini ones...

# He's parked there
and having a picnic!

# it has less accidents than
other junctions of similar girth though.

# That's because
everybody avoids it.

# theres also
one very similar (but smaller) in hemel hempstead...
i tell you, they scare the crap out of me...not because of MY driving ability, as i know what i'm doing, but everyone else...
