Western media programmes criticised Arabic information service Al-Jazeera in the early hours of the morning after they broadcast the latest Bin Laden tape to Middle East viewers. Politicians across the United States and United Kingdom derided the station for gross negligence and irresponsibility and accused them of inflaming anti-American and anti-Western feeling across the region. The recordings, which contained tracks by Phil Collins, Pat Benatar, The Frog Chorus by Paul McCartney and several Whitesnake songs, set off huge protests throughout the Middle East, with millions declaring Holy War upon the offending artistes. Sony have already moved in to market the cassettes to Western audiences under the title Now that's what I call Bin Laden.
