Then the board got to the scale it is now (nearly three million posts) and Cal's code gave out. Rob was appealing a while ago for someone with a real search engine to help out... I take it no offers yet!
A lot of the archive is actually on Google's index. But no promises. Try using Google's 'site: syntax', for example: Google for
marmot site:b3ta.com
and you'll get a bunch of b3ta archive posts relating to marmots.
