But the way I see it is that being stuck in prison for the rest of your natural life is a much worse punishment than complete oblivion.
Plus the whole thing of possible wrong convictions, but that doesn't seem to apply in this case.

natural life is one way of looking at it but death row inmates usually are on death row for years. For me, having all that time to think about your impending demise is just as bad.

to anyone thinking of starting a new thread, I'd give it 5 minutes or so ;)
EDIT: crikey, that was solid gold flame war material, and nothing happened, it fizzled out in a very mature and adult manner. This is what I get for spending time on Fark (spit spit).
