200% FactMy wife has this annoying habit: whenever someone does anything nasty in a film she goes 'But why did he do that?'. Not in a 'what's the reason?' kind of way, but more in a 'How could he do that?' vein.
So the villain murders someone. The victim may even be someone we've grown attached to as the film progresses. But the event is not unexpected, since it is the villain who carries out the deed after all.
And while I'm getting caught up in the whole excitement of the event, my wife sits there and asks me 'Why? Why did he do that? I don't understand!'
BECAUSE HE'S THE F**KING VILLAIN! HE DOES BAD STUFF!
