i have been searching for a good tutorial for a while on making them..... anybody know a good one?

You don't need a tutorial matey! This is just fireworks/imageready stuff.

Edit: Keep each part roughly the same size without making any drastic movements and people are none the wiser.

I think you could have made that animation in pivot and it would look almost the same but it wouldn't have taken so long - maybe.
