I can't find a difference between the airbrush and paintbrush tools. They seem to work exactly the same. (photoshop 7)
Wait... got it. The airbrush keeps on adding paint while the button is held down, the brush doesn't.

it's a very useful feature - especially if you use it on a low setting, my fingers are constantly over the [ and ] keys to change the brush size too...

# opacity refers to the total amount that can be drawn in one stroke
if it's set to 50% for example, no matter how long you hold down the airbrush, you will only achieve 50% coverage :) (i never use it that way, in fact i've gone back to PS6 because it has a better airbrush)
