the Chav primer...Chavs are the English version of American 'townies'. The teenagers and twentysomethings who are obsessed with clubbing and cell phones, and they generally have a lot of indiscriminate teenaged sex and have illegitimate, drug-addled babies by the time they're 18 or so. They wear a lot of some bizarre English fashion called 'Burberry' which looks a bit like a sort of tartan but far more boring. Except Burberry is a rather expensive brand, so the chavs wear cheap knockoffs, except for the kings and queens of the club, who make good enough livings off of ecstasy, petty theft or child support payments, to buy the real stuff.
I'd love to get some anthropologists on them.
