Apologies to non-Brits, Mace is a chain of villiage stores in the UK. They used to be widespread in the 70s but now are mainly limited to oop north.

In Australia, it means people from Pakistan (i.e. we're playing the pakis next week in the cricket), but I hear backpackers referring to anyone from Asia or Africa as Pakis...
