It's a Whale Shark
and as such, I don't think that it has ears!
But that said it's a woofull pic and top lurkage - nearly as long as I lurked for!

gills evolved into ears.
Shown during early feotal development of people, structures similar to gills start forming on the sides of what becomes the neck, which eventrually move up and become ears.
Furthermore, the ones in gills are sensitive to vibration, and the same shape and size as the bones in the ear.
Therefore, gills are ears. Ish.
