As to what a librarian does

In my present position I mostly keep things running (2iC).
Reference work, circulation-type stuff, cataloguing, IT support, training other staff and students.. and looking down students' blouses.

It helps I'm working again in a subject area I enjoy.
The last couple of years before this were a kind of creeping hell.

sorry to hear it
for some reason I decided to read like six of Kafka's short stories one week. I hardly ever read anything. I pick up a lot of stuff, think it's great, and then leave it alone for three months. The only other author whose works I've persued like that was Mark Twain.
