# em.. yep
did it work?

# Well,
I went to download.com and found FastStone Photo Resizer. It's brilliant! It does everything I want and more, and the executable is smaller than some of the files that get posted here!

It is... An image converter/resizer intended to enable users especially digital camera owners to convert, rename, resize, crop, rotate, change color depth, add text and watermark to images in a quick and easy BATCH mode. Drag & Drop is well supported.

OK - so it's a blatant promo for them, but it's such nice freeware, they deserve it. In fact, I think it should be included in the FAQ for newbies to get their files to a manageable size.

# do the small images look OK?
our company pays.. PAYS a third party to resize images for the web site

there are mad people out there..

# I would do them for half the price. FACT.

# I already offered
they said no

spent a few grand on a little landing page for an e-mail campaign.. I said I`d do it for half the price next time

they said no

ergo: expensive must be good

# Try suggesting...
...double the price?

# I think
they do. I haven't really inspected them that closely. Hang on a tick*...

*Or "tic", whichever takes your hanging preference.

# OK
Here's the version resized by FastStone...

And here's the original...

You can decide for yourself whether it's good quality of not. But now I'm off to bed. Night!

# I maygive this a try later.
It appears to be a top find.

# Christ! Talk about throwing money away...
You could knock up a batch command for Fireworks, in a couple minutes, to do the job (I'd say Photoshop, but it's a bit 'spensive).

# totally agree
but after a year of explaining how they`re being ripped off, I`m fed up wasting me breath

I threw together a little Flash thing in under 5 mins to show how easy some of the stuff they pay for is to do; and it`s literally just static pages with a bit of Flash - we have to re-code them with server markup to make them do useful stuff
