I think it's one of those love 'em or hate 'em thingsPersonally I've always found the compact types a bit cheap feeling, clunky and generally less than tip-top. The slr ones seem good, but I've not played with them much.
My Olympus is quite user friendly if you want a compact, and xd is not THAT expensive - still less than £20 for a 256mb card
