Really? Personally I really didn't like the bit in front of the curtains, didn't find it funny at all. Have you seen the extras bit on the second series DVD with the short film 'Sweet'? Haha that's brilliant!

I don't have the second series on DVD, only the first.Booo.
I did like the bits in front of the curtain, I think it made the viewer feel a bit more involved, and like it was an actual show rather than a slice of an alternative reality.
They also did a few bits of talking-to-camera in the first series, which I don't think they did in the second, and I think it suffered for that.
