I'm starting to worry
about what's going to happen when my iiyama gives up. It's already getting tired. It's getting harder and harder to buy a decent crt.

I just buy
21" recon CRTs from a local trade fair or from Manchester Monitors ( on ebay ) when they have them in for sub £50. Still better display quality than all but the best TFTs and at that price even if they last a year it is worth it. I have bought two LG studioworks and a Sun Microsystems 21" CRT in the last two years and the only problem was a component failure in the LOPT ( power supply area ) of one of the LG's and I fixed that myself for a couple of quid.
I reccommend this course of action.

the only really problem I have with the monitor
(aside from it having a bit of a wobbly due to age/quality) is the depth bigness, it takes up a whole load of deskspace that could be used for crap I'm working on/with.
But I've got nowhere near the amount of cash to buy some beautiful large hires flat thing so I'll have to just get used to it for now.
