Speaking as one who lives in fear and trepidation of being made to look stupid(which is, admittedly, very easy!) I have to say I find that really sad. Spelling correctly is such an easy and yet effective way to at least appear as if you know what you're on about, especially when communicating on the interweb given the wealth of tools at one's fingertips.
