when i first
moved there i made the mistake of telling my office i was "going outside to pump my body full of fags". it raised a few eyebrows. Now I come to think of it, it's a pretty gay way of saying you're going for a smoke in England too.

When I wanted a cigarette in New Zealand once, I announced it in a typical English way ("I'm off to rape a 12-year-old boy in the arse until he bleeds out of his nose.") This also raised eyebrows.
