what is the importance of the stairs

could you explain your choices in terms of the composition

# new flat, need something for the walls
these are the only colours I have and Im too lazy to mix them too much

the stairs are that colour because I have 2 beigey colours that wouldnt work as paint dripping colours

Any thoughts from an art school perspective?
