can any of teh compootur people tell me this: i have a two layer gif. and i want to make writing stay above the moving image and be present at all times. i put on writing but it created a new layer and i fucked up, it looks alright but i'd like to know for the furture!

unless you specify text should be created as a raster it'll create its own vector layer.

mucho better, thanks mad man, although i'm actually using photoshop elements, didnt read the GIMP bit till after i completed my task. (unfortunately now i cant change the colour of my writing thats on a merged slide, oh well ill live)
