don't forget the server loadb3ta is already painfully slow at some times
and what's so bad about trying to optimize? it's normally about two clicks in ps and a minute on the clock with most pictures.
if the picture is not that easily compressable or if it would suffer from severe quality loss due to compression, that's another matter
