# Depends on the kind of image.
If you've got lots of colours and detail, or the image is more than 400 pixels in each dimension, JPEGs usually do the job better. Smaller, low colour/low detail images are better presented as GIFs

# I posted this one mostly as an experiment to see
if I still had an army of whiners waiting to pounce on me once again. And I gave a thankful response to you. I got dragged into something pretty pathetic down there, but I felt obliged to at least uphold my point. I thought the one originating post I made was benign in itself. If not for all the people who saw that as an opportunity to white, the board would be looking much nicer around about now.

And this is officially my last post on the matter. In the great words of Bill & Ted:
