The video tutes on the website are excellent...... but don't buy the book. It's out of date and most of the material within it is on their website anyway.
A lot of it is just patience and time. It took me forever to get to grips with it, but it was time well spent.
I am actually trying to make a robot character. It's just kinda slow going. So far I have a foot.
Edit: Also, the new edgesplit modifier is tha shit. I can do much better curvy/flatty combos now. I hope to finish my robot before the end of March.
