stuff anyway. I've even read the Xml specification (ouch - don't bother ;-)

munkt9n: Xml is a self-documenting file format, which makes it really useful when you're providing/requesting data to/from another system which you don't control. You can add more information to the response without breaking existing clients, which is extremely handy when you don't control the clients. Coordinating releases across multiple systems is rather difficult...
