
first read some tutorials on how to handle the pen tool. You will get much smother images when you understand how to alter the anchor point handles to make curved corners.
Pick your colours from the original image if you use one and use the 5point average tool in the colour picker.
Faces are hard work and tonal changes in faces can benefit from a feathered edge to help with blending.
Otherwise fine first tracing effort. No worse than the first one I had a go at.

Oh and again just google for tutorials and read as many as you can. I've learned everything I know about tattyshop from net tutorials. I had no idea how to use it 2 years ago. ( not that I'm that much better now ;))
