Wow.I'm really impressed and kind of envious, but I think that you've proven my point for me...
Rats would probably be my second favourite pet next to cats if they lived to be ten or eleven instead of dying just as soon as you're really attatched to them, so I may not be the best judge of cold blooded pets.

rats againare just a food animal. They both were on dog rats for years and I got used to bashing their heads over a table before feeding to stop them biting the snakes. It's when they get big enough for rabbits and pigs it gets harder.
Cats I would not have in the house, not even to feed to the snakes.
