no, there are no moving partsas the screen/pad is touch sensitive. My last PDA did exactly the same thing and is long in the bin.
I'd suggest you do what mofaha says and completely remove all trace of it from the PC and re-install with the latest driver but I strongly suspect the pad has gone tits up.
