Also, the photos I choose have an organic/metallic/? quality that inspires me.

that's maybe why 1 is better than 2 or 3. 2 is too complex (too much of the original), while 3 is too simple (no obvious hidden structure).

1 is goldilocks.

I wouldn't say 2 is too complex, and I wouldn't say 3 is too simple. All three are emulating different styles.

Thing is, if i hadn't linked the source pic it would be hard to make the comparison, nes pa?
