# One of my favourite authors, probably Robert Sheckely,
maybe Theodore Sturgeon, tried taking turns with another author I like very much chaining each other to a chair until they'd each written a story.

I know that it was Sheckely who said that he couldn't tell the quality of his 'forced' work from that of his inspired stuff, and Sturgeon who described his creative process as (summary follows) A) Staring at the typewriter B)occasionally changing the paper so it's always 'fresh' C) drinking coffee until he's out of coffee and needs money to buy more D) Writing a story E) profit (sometimes prophet, as in 'The Golden Helix').

Edit: Applause for the painterly!
