Is it an unhappy face symbol?I've heard that happens when the drive 'sticks'
and can be cured with percussive maintenance.

I had this a little while backUnhappy face sign came up and you could hear the drive sticking. It then proceded to crash my PC every time I plugged it in to reinstall the software. Tried it on my parents PC a few weeks later and luckily itunes recognised it, offered to reinstall it, and it's worked fine since.
So I fixed it more by luck than judgement to be honest! Good Luck!

I wish it was an unhappy face, then I'd feel sorry for itrather than just a rising feeling of anger.
Its a little folder symbol with an exclamation mark, and a link to the apple support pages underneath. Very worrying indeed.
