Aliens did feel close and chilling in places, but went from small to big set pieces very quickly
(in my humble opinion anyway)
The extended version MORE than makes up for this fleeting direction though,
and makes for a much better film
(as indeed does the longer, uncut version of Alien 3, which introduces so much more, and is a cracking uncut film)

as above, so out with the dog idea and back to the bovine, also there is a reference to it in the original cinema version, of the waste holding container that they want to burn the alien down from the pipes and capture it, but it was never in the film, is now back in there :D

loved them. i'm a fan of Alien 3 as well, purely because i like the concept of going from a well-armoured, well-trained fighting unit to a colony of weapon-free religious zealots, yet having to face the same enemy.
