Blackpool is really REALLY grim these days - all BnBs are all drunken stag parties or else smack dole hostels.

Go for proper hotels, they aren't too expensive and are much more salubrious.

Thanks for the tip - I think this is kind of looking like the way. Blackpool is absolutely grim - I'm just taking my lovely un-grim bloke to the pleasure beach and for him to see the spectacular* illuminations
