I thought it was ok

but not really a horror. More a sort of slightly odd war thriller.

I finally bought myself a copy of The Host a couple of months ago. That was pretty cool.

I vaguely remember that when it came out

As it was by the same director as Memories of Murder, although reading the plot description on wikipedia doesn't exactly give me high hopes of the film.

True it's nothing groundbreaking

but as a stupid monster movie bought with an HMV voucher I got for christmas, it was about a million percent better than that shitty American Godzilla film.
