# Useless piece of information #5554883
but our oldest book is from 1550, and is obviously kept in our strong room, and is a learned work (for the time), essentially some bloke's attempt to catalogue all the known animals in the world. A worthy effort on account of his detail, and illustrations.

Sadly, this was 1550, and knowledge about animals was still rather vague, so half his book is filled with fabulous descriptions of the various sea monsters, and appropriately illustrated, but also including a wonderful entry for the Monk fish. Being 1550, it is of course a fish with a monk's tonsure :)

Yay! :)
