Sorry about ignoring you before. My network went tits up. All fixed now and to answer your question you want the layer properties found on the right ( or from the toolbar if you want the awkward option )

you click the little arrow drop box where it says 'normal'

Edit:// you have to have the layer palette visible for this. If it is not you can show it from the 'window' options on the toolbar.
